DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY CENTRE LIMITED: MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT FOR FINANCIAL YEAR ENDING 31st Dec 2024 ISSUED PURSUANT TO SECTION 54 OF THE MODERN SLAVERY ACT 2015.
OUR BUSINESS, STRUCTURE AND SUPPLY CHAINS
Digital Accessibility Centre Limited is a 100% not for profit social enterprise, employing approximately 80 people, and we are also a National Living Wage Foundation Accredited Employer. This ensures that all staff employed by the company are paid a salary that is above that of the National Living Wage. In addition to this, our Recruitment Policy ensures that all staff members possess the right to live and work in the United Kingdom through a Prevention of Illegal Working Checklist and Policy, documenting which evidence must be supplied to demonstrate an individual’s right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
OUR POLICIES
We adopt the following policies, which are relevant to the identification of modern slavery, and the risks and steps to be taken to prevent slavery and human trafficking in our operations.
These include:
- Responsible Sourcing Policy
- Human Rights Policy
- Environmental Policy
- Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy
- Whistleblowing Policy
- Health and Safety Policy
- CSR Policy
- Employee Code of Conduct
- Recruitment policy
DUE DILIGENCE PROCESSES
Detail the due diligence undertaken by the organisation including when taking on new suppliers and when reviewing its existing suppliers.
These processes include:
- Ensuring that all staff employed by the company are paid a salary that is above that of the National Living Wage.
- Implementing within our Recruitment Policy the requirement for all staff to demonstrate that they possess the right to live and work in the United Kingdom and verifying this through the use of a Prevention of Illegal Working Check. Ensuring that all policies relevant to this are reviewed on a regular basis.
- Taking steps to improve on practises wherever identified.
OUR EFFECTIVENESS IN ELIMINATING MODERN SLAVERY
By ensuring:
- that we operate a robust recruitment process whereby ALL prospective employees MUST demonstrate that they possess the right to live and work in the United Kingdom,
and
- by conforming to the strict criteria designated in order to become a National Living Wage Foundation Accredited Employer,
the Digital Accessibility Centre Limited currently operate what we consider to be adequately effective measures which are robust and ensure that modern slavery is not taking place in our business.
