To achieve certification each undergoes a manual technical compliance review against WCAG 2.2 to level AA.

The underwent both a technical compliance audit and robust end to end testing by users with a wide range of disabilities including blind, low vision, dyslexia, colour blindness, mobility impairments, learning difficulties, Deaf, Asperger and anxiety and panic disorder.

All testing is carried out in line with relevant platform specific guidelines, and where applicable, conforms with The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. Testing also conforms to Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

  • (1.2.3 Audio Description or Media Alternative (Pre-recorded), 1.2.5 Audio Description (Pre-recorded)): Videos provided information which was not available to blind users
  • (2.4.9 Link Purpose (Link Only)): The purpose of links could not be determined from the link text alone. 
  • (1.3.6 Identify Purpose): The Breadcrumb trail that is present on the page does not clearly convey its purpose as being a breadcrumb navigation to users
  • (3.2.5 Change on Request): Links were identified that opened in a new tab without informing users.
  • (Usability): Some pages did not contain any main content.
  • (Usability): Interactive elements had no cursor hover indications, or they were difficult to see.
  • (Usability): Content was obscured when the page was magnified.
  • (Usability): Content was not compatible with some assistive technologies.
  • (Usability): Links were marked up in a way which could be difficult to interpret for screen reader users.
  • (Usability): Decorative icons are discoverable by assistive technology.
  • (Usability): The placement of information is not found within an expected part of the page.
  • (Usability): Placeholder text which did not provide additional information did not contrast well.
