To achieve certification each undergoes a manual technical compliance review against WCAG 2.1 to level AA.
The underwent both a technical compliance audit and robust end to end testing by users with a wide range of disabilities including blind, low vision, dyslexia, colour blindness, mobility impairments, learning difficulties, Deaf, Asperger and anxiety and panic disorder.
All testing is carried out in line with relevant platform specific guidelines, and where applicable, conforms with The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. Testing also conforms to Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
List of issues
- Components had been identified that opened in a new tab/window without informing users.
- Abbreviated links were found to be non-descriptive out of context.
- Some elements do not have a visible border when viewing the page in high contrast mode.
- There are instances where internal scrolling might cause problems for voice activation users.
Journey 1
- Log in as GP Partner user using a NHS Smartcard (to be provided - alternative to Username + Password)
- Click the ‘Riley House GP Practice’ link.
- View and test homepage.
- Click into a consultation/appointment from the homepage under the ‘current workload’.
- Toggle the chevron adjacent to ‘Clinical Summary’ to switch between each of the sections of the Patient Medical Record
Journey 2
- On the left hand side complete the consultation note input:
- Add a new Linked problem
- Topic is about: Asthma
- Add a new Section "History"
- In the History section, add a ‘coded’ note by typing ‘Fam his of ast’ and using the up and down arrow keys to select ‘Family history of asthma’, then typing free text ‘Father’, and finally click the ‘Save’ button.
- In the History section, open a new ‘observation’ modal, fill out the form with ‘blood pressure 120/80’, then click the ‘Save’ button.
- In the History section, add a new allergy by opening the allergy modal, add ‘allergy to Paracetamol’, and then click the ‘Save’ button.
- In the History section, add ‘Medication Prescribed Elsewhere’ of ‘Ibuprofen’, then click the ‘Save’ button.
- Select ‘Plan’ from ‘New Section’.
- In the ‘Plan’ section, prescribe a new ‘inhaler’ drug and click the continue button.
- Enter dummy data into the field for ‘Dosage’, ‘Issue Quantity’ and test, then click the ‘Issue now’ button.
- In the Plan section, issue a new fit note and print.
- In the Plan section, add ‘Immunisation record’ and in the modal, click the ‘Vaccination history’ radio button.
- Fill in ‘Immunisation’ field with ‘Administration of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine’ and click the ‘Save’ button.
- In the ‘Follow up actions’ section, click ‘Book appointment’ button.
- In the ‘Follow up appointment’ modal, click the ‘Find appointment’ button.
- Choose an available appointment from any clinic, and then check appointments for next week. If there are no free slots, change the clinic until you find a free slot.
- Click ‘View free appointments’ and then click the ‘first available timeslot.
- Check the fields, click ‘booking confirmation’ as ‘not required’, and then click the ‘save’ button.
- In the Plan section, add a recall for ‘Asthma Review’, then use the radio buttons to choose ‘on a specific date’ in 12 months and click the ‘Save’ button.
- In the Plan section, refer to a hospital specialist via e-RS (Requires smartcard)
- Click the ‘Review Notes’ button to open a modal and check your notes.
- Click the ‘Finalise Notes & return to homepage’ button.
