To achieve certification each website undergoes a manual technical compliance review against WCAG 2.1 to level AA.

The website underwent both a technical compliance audit and robust end to end testing by users with a wide range of disabilities including blind, low vision, dyslexia, colour blindness, mobility impairments, learning difficulties, Deaf, Asperger and anxiety and panic disorder.

All testing is carried out in line with relevant platform specific guidelines, and where applicable, conforms with The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. Testing also conforms to Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

List of issues

Date picker:

The date picker is not accessible for screen reader users navigating out of the context of the page using NVDA screen reading software. The pattern values and placeholder text do not match the visual format. The input fields use the input type (date) which has limited support for voice activation users using Dragon software.

Focus order - Date picker:

Screen reader users are unable to access the input field and enter a date manually when navigating using mobile devices. When the calendar opens focus is not placed on the calendar and users travel through the content on the page behind the calendar.

Third party - Custom element:

The custom screen capture element is not accessible by to users of assistive technologies as it is constructed using custom HTML and JavaScript functions which are not exposed correctly.
